New Year- Same Minimal Blogging
Hey Official Blog of KateHarlow.com what's happening?
Things are lovely in the Triangle- DSI is thriving as always, and I in my time spent there am happy to be always learning.
Some exciting things on the horizon- the North Carolina Comedy Event- put up by DSI will begin January 30th. Running through much of February, this is the 13th year of the festival, and it is set to be the most exciting yet.
Please check out our various media handles:

Also, just DSI related in general- for the first time in a long time- our Youtube page is beginning to reliably get media posted again, which is very exciting.

Again with the time passing
I did another update on the site, added some new photos, added some new video, some new links. Managed to finally get myself to create a photo album on a separate site.
Slow going, but changes happen eventually.
I've been in North Carolina over a year now- that's been quite nice. Working and performing at DSI has been a wonderful thing in my life. I have an excellent group of friends from all the time I spend at the theater, and I value them tremendously.

OH NO I FORGOT ABOUT THIS BLOG!
So how about this super awesome website that I totally pay for and ignore almost all of the time.
Except for when I'm being super outgoing (and/or obnoxious) and giving people my (crazy pretty) business card which will direct them here.
Direct them here to this website, that is painfully out of date, and nearly collecting dust.
I apologize website, and possible one person reading this. If you're out there. Hit up my facebook, I'm totally on that all the time. And tumblr. And reddit.
I have no excuse for not taking better care of this site.

Thrill of the Hunt
Had a job interview yesterday. I don't want to jinx anything, but it felt like it went well to me. It would be a really fantastic opportunity if I land it- it's close to the apartment, the hours they are looking to fill are convenient, and I think it's something I can really excel at.
I should hear something by the end of the week- they're doing interviews throughout the week, and said they would like to make a decision by Friday.
In other news- my improv class starts next week. I'm so excited to dive back into the pool.
I really can't do too much exploring and wandering because I don't have surplus cash to be spending on fun times and trying new things. So just as soon as I have a job I'll have some moneys, then I'll be able to get out and have some fun!

To Do, Ta DA!
So, I'm here. I'm (mostly) unpacked. I've started looking for jobs.
Most importantly for my heart and soul- I'm registered for classes at DSI.
BACK TO COMEDY. BACK TO IMPROV. BACK TO WHAT I LIVE, LOVE, AND BREATHE!
I'm excited to be here. The puzzle pieces are all falling in to place. I'm just about there. Not 100% but the pieces are assembling.
I'm really happy here. Yes, I miss my friends in Buffalo- but the day to day? Not so much. My mom and I still talk every day, nothing could change that! I miss my cats. Here though, I'm eating better, I'm working out every day- I'm job hunting, and I'm throwing myself back into improv. Nothing could make me happier than that.

Farewell Buffalo
I made a little video to bid adieu to the city I grew up in.
Goodbye Buffalo
I'm sad to be leaving- but I'm so excited to be embarking on a new chapter of my life, I can hardly contain myself.
At the beginning of this year I made a promise to myself. (Call it a resolution?) I wanted more than anything to change my life for the better. I wanted to get my health in order. Get my diabetes under control, get my thyroid properly treated, exercise more, eat better. Now that I have those things on the right track- I can focus on my personal life. I want to be a better daughter, a better sister, a better friend. I can't change any of the past- but what I can do is change my attitude, and change how I approach the future.
David Sedaris wrote about how he was told to quit smoking he needed to change his entire environment- move away, or redecorate. So he moved to Japan. Well, I don't need to quit smoking, but I want a fresh start. North Carolina is my blank slate, mostly. I started changing in Buffalo- and those small changes I made in Buffalo I need to hold onto here- and I need to build on them. I'm excited. I'm ready to build on what I've started.

Moving Day on the Horizon
It's really really really happening! I have an actual departure date! My official move to North Carolina is happening May 12th.
I have a million things to do before then, and I don't even know where to begin.
Shocking I know.
Love,
Kate
